The Bad Directions

When you combine influences as diverse as Neil Young, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Metallica, Guns ‘n’ Roses, and Johnny Cash, the result is true Americana. The result is ‘The Bad Directions’.
In December of 2002, singer/songwriter Bradley Weaver had just finished his solo album ‘Think’, and realized he would need a band to support the album. For guitar, the choice was easy. Throughout 2002, Bradley had played bass for ‘Eric Shiveley & the Deserters’. During that time, he became fast friends with guitarist Dan Garcia (also of ‘rachel’s playpen’). Dan jumped into Bradley’s new project without hesitation, and in turn, recruited his old ‘El Fiend’ bandmate Carlos Newman, for drums. With Bradley handling bass/vocal duties, the power trio was complete.
August 2005 marked the departure of Newman & the addition of Tim Stough (Lickin’ Lolli’). They also released their first album ‘8:05’ & continued to gain fans with their driven, intense, no frills live show.
In 2008, ‘The Bad Directions’ took their sound to a new level & expanded to a 4-piece. Bradley moved to rhythm guitar & Mindi May (‘Three Miles West’) assumed bass duties. With Mindi on board & their new two guitar attack, ‘The Bad Directions’ had a fuller sound & brought new life to their entire catalog.
2008 also brought a tremendous opportunity, both professionally & personally, for Dan. He began a new life in Europe. With Dan's departure, The Bad Directions (as a live act) began an indefinite hiatus. Feel free to download (from this section's audio page) our most recent recording (2006's self-titled ep).
